EDGE Courses
In the Spring of 2018, Penn State Beaver campus launched its first EDGE course with Organic Chemistry (CHEM 213). As the semester progressed interest expanded to include additional EDGE faculty. The global collaboration continued with Global Marketing (MKGT 445) and Project Management (BA 421).

The students worked collaboratively to prepare marketing plans for an IT product that does not exist in Morocco. 57 students participated, including 25 students from Penn State Beaver and 32 students from our partner, Al-Akhawayn University.

We examined numerous aspects of business, such as finance, strategy, entrepreneurship, marketing, sales, operations, international business, and negotiations necessary to complete in the global economy. Students developed a tool kit for analyzing international businesses, cultural competencies, and skills needed to successfully navigate in a foreign country.
CHEM 213: Organic Chemistry

The project involved the laboratory scale production of soap and extraction of different essences with chemistry students from the University of Split in Croatia. Both classes synthesized soap and infused it with scented oils. The art class students at Beaver, ART 10, 30 or 102 designed the packaging for the soap, so that the effort become a multidisciplinary process with an end product.
